Chinese Medicine and India Ayurveda traditions have long worshipped cinnamon for its use to treat conditions such as colds, indigestion, and cramps. Cinnamon is also believed to improve energy, vitality and blood circulation. Cinnamon is usually mixed with other herbs to mitigate high blood pressure to create medicinal relievers for stomach pain, cold sweats and ulcers. The cinnamon bark has a spicy flavor, slightly sweet, warm and scented. Its refreshing aroma body is also commonly used as aroma therapy.
This plant grows well in the altitude of 600-1500 meters above sea level. Cinnamon is mostly found in West Sumatra and Jambi (Kerinci). This type of wood has the lowest volatile oil content.
